User growth
The user growth section offers a comprehensive overview of your business's user expansion across various platforms and at different time periods. It also sheds light on how these users were acquired and the communication channels available to engage with them effectively. Let's delve into the key features of this valuable tool and how you can access and utilize them for insightful decision-making.
To access this feature, go to the segment section then click on user growth. Here you can access the following options:
- User growth (segmented by platforms): This section provides a breakdown of your user growth across various platforms, including total users, Android in-app users, iOS in-app users, M-site users, and website users. This segmentation is essential for understanding where your user base is concentrated and how it's evolving across different platforms.
- User reachability: Here, you'll discover the various communication channels available to connect with your users. These include web push, Android push, iOS push, SMS, email, and WhatsApp. Understanding the reachability options at your disposal is crucial for devising effective engagement strategies.
- Charts for user growth analysis: In this user growth section, you'll find two types of user charts: the User Growth Chart and the Acquisition Chart. These charts offer valuable insights into your user base dynamics.
You can filter both of these charts by date. Simply select a date range and graph type, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or annually, and the graphs will adjust accordingly.
a) User growth chart:
The user growth chart is a graphical representation that provides a visual snapshot of how your user base is evolving over time. It's like a dynamic timeline that tracks the changes in your user count.
Existing user count (darker shade): This part of the chart shows the number of users you already had before the selected time period. It's depicted in a darker shade. This information helps you understand the size of your user base at the beginning of the chosen timeframe.
New users added (lighter shade): The lighter shade or color on the chart represents the number of new users acquired during the same time period. These are users who have joined your platform, service, or app during the specified duration. This data point is crucial for assessing your user acquisition efforts and understanding how your user base is expanding.
When you compare the darker and lighter shades on the chart, it provides a clear visual representation of how your existing user base relates to the new users over the specified period. This analysis helps you assess the success of your growth strategies and whether they are resulting in a net expansion of your user base.
b) Acquisition chart:
The Acquisition chart is a tool that dives deep into understanding where your users come from, offering valuable insights into the sources of user acquisition.
It provides a breakdown of the number of users gained from specific sources. These sources include lead forms, SDK integrations, and API. For instance, this graph can tell you how many users came through your website's sign-up form, how many were acquired through integrating your app with NotifyVisitors via an SDK, or how many were added through API integrations.
With these insights, the Acquisition Chart helps you identify which acquisition channels or methods are most effective in bringing in users.
By default, both of these charts show data from all available channels. However, you have the flexibility to refine the data by selecting a specific channel of interest from the dropdown menu located at the top right corner of each chart. This allows you to narrow your focus and analyze user growth or acquisition data from a specific source or channel of your choice.
Analyze users
The "Analyze Users" section takes user data analysis to a more advanced level by offering a comprehensive range of user growth insights, including trends, attributes, technographics, and geography-based analytics. These enhancements provide a deeper understanding of your user base.
To conduct an analysis in this section, you start by selecting your preferred date range. This allows you to focus on a specific time period of interest, which can be especially useful when you want to track changes or trends over time.
Additionally, you have the option to apply specific attributes to fine-tune your analysis. These attributes could be characteristics or criteria related to your users. For instance, you might want to analyze data for users who have made a certain number of purchases, users from a particular geographical region, or users with specific behavior patterns. To do this, you simply choose the attribute you're interested in, set the condition (like include, exclude, equals to, etc.), and specify the value that meets your criteria.
After defining your analysis parameters, initiating the process with a simple click on the search button yields a wealth of valuable insights with four distinct options:
- Trends: The Trends chart provides a visual representation of the daily count of new users acquired based on the filters you've applied. This chart helps you track and visualize user acquisition patterns over time, making it easier to identify spikes or dips in user growth.
- Attributes: The Attributes tab enables you to analyze newly acquired users based on their specific attributes. To begin, click on the “Split by Attribute” dropdown menu to view a list of available attributes. Select an attribute, and a bar graph will display the distribution of users aquired based on various values of the selected attribute, providing a clear breakdown for analysis.
- Technographics: The Technographics chart illustrates the sources or platforms from which you've gained new users. It breaks down the number of new users acquired from various platforms, offering insights into which channels or technologies are most effective in attracting users.
- Geography: This chart reveals the geographical origins of your new users. It specifies the countries from which these users were acquired. Moreover, you can drill down further by selecting a specific country from the dropdown menu, which grants access to a detailed breakdown by cities. This geographical data is invaluable for understanding the global reach of your user base.
- User List: As the name suggests, this option provides a detailed list of users who meet the specified criteria you've defined. This list includes comprehensive user details such as names, user IDs, email addresses, phone numbers, the platforms they've used, and more. The User List is a powerful filter option for conducting personalized outreach and further analysis of individual users.
These options empower you to track user growth trends, assess the effectiveness of acquisition platforms, gain insights into user geographical distribution, and access a detailed user list for personalized actions. This level of granularity enables you to make data-driven decisions, refine your strategies, and enhance user experiences with precision.
